Diego Gambetta holds the Carlo Alberto Chair in social and political science at Collegio Carlo Alberto, Turin, Italy. He is also a Fellow of the British Academy since 2000. He is well known for his application of game theory and signalling theory to empirical problems such as the underdevelopment of the Italian South or trust among criminals.Â
In this interview, Diego Gambetta revisits how he came to create the Trust Seminar. Gambetta reflects on the intellectual context of King's College and of how this seminar made him realize the potential of game theory for the social sciences.
